QST Aerospace: Inaugural Tripartite Technology Project Mission
Following the MOU signed with the Aerospace Association of Singapore (AAIS) in May this year, SHTA is following up by initiating meetings with the MRO sector of the aerospace industry. A plenary and introductory meeting was held on 9 October 2009 at ST Aerospace Engine Total Support Division between SHTA members and ST Aerospace senior management, Mr Choo Han Khoon, SVP, Engine Total Support Division and Mr Na Wee Kwong, Sr. Engineering Manager, Engineering Dept. of ST Aerospace.
SHTA members who attended were Mr BK Ng, the MD of Innovative Polymers Pte Ltd and Mr Johnny Leong, the Sales Manager of Innotec Automation Pte Ltd; Mr Jacob Tee, Sales & Marketing Manager of Shanghai Tong Lee Hardware and Mr Sunny Chin (SHTA President and Managing Partner of Success Network International).
Mr Choo and Mr Na briefed SHTA on the company’s history, track record and future projections. The meeting identified areas that can be improved in the field of MRO and aircraft engines repair engineering processes, inspection and testing, material handling and inventory tracking. Mr Choo was happy that the meeting took place “at the right time” as the company is looking forward to new and creative innovations to be implemented at their new facility in Xiamen, China which is planned to be opened some time early 2010.
ST Aerospace’s Engine Total Support Division welcomed the cooperation framework and project identification process as explained by Mr Sunny Chin. With the agreement in principle to the idea, the next step is to work out the fine details at the next meeting scheduled before the end of October.
