MDIS-SHTA Explore Collaboration on Engineering Programmes

Dr Eric Kuan, President of the Management and Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) welcomed the seven men team from SHTA council led by Sunny Chin, SHTA President, and shared some of the future plans of the Institute. In the pipeline are engineering programmes that include aeronautical and environment engineering. Both organisations agreed on the synergy in exploring on harnessing human talents development to meet the ever changing economic landscape of Singapore business environment to leverage on technology to drive the SME’s businesses. Areas for cooperation include:
- To identify and develop engineering programmes that will fit the skill level for
a. MRO in Aerospace Industry
b. Instrumentation in Environment Engineering Industry
c. Medical Technology in Life Science. MDIS to consider internship and industrial attachment at SHTA member companies.
SHTA members can also collaborate with MDIS on engineering-related projects for student research.
SHTA to encourage members companies to engage in providing engineering related talks and seminars to MDIS students.
