Singapore High Technology Association (SHTA) will be organizing a Trade Mission to USA (Rochester, NY) and Canada (Vancouver) from 22 - 26 March 2010 (Monday to Friday). Singapore-based companies in the environmental engineering and high tech industry are encouraged to take part in this mission

Objectives
The Trade Mission aims to provide a platform for business transactions and create awareness about important issues in clean energy technology. Its objectives include:
• Gaining first hand market, industry and business information about the renewable energy industry in the US and Canada
• Participate in a dialogue session with US and Canadian environmental and energy policy makers and other important government-based organisations in the environmental technology sector
• To meet relevant associations and business chambers
• To meet and exchange perspectives on environmental engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York
• To visit the Globe 2010 conference and trade fair in Vancouver
• To network with US and Canadian companies in the environmental engineering industry.

Highlights
Apart from attending Globe 2010, mission participants will also visit the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York and exchange views on environmental engineering on the highest level with RIT experts and professors. In addition, mission participants will also be invited to a dialogue session with US and Canadian policy makers and other important government-based organisations in the environment and energy technology sector to discuss issues related to the state of environmental (high) technology in the US and Canada.

Financial Assistance & Support
Eligible participating companies can apply to the International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore) for International Marketing Activities Program (IMAP) funding for expenses for travel and hotel accommodation for one employee per company from UP TO 70% subsidy (IMAP terms and conditions apply).


Double Tax Deduction (DTD) Scheme
The Double Tax Deduction (DTD) scheme allows approved companies to deduct against their taxable income, twice the eligible expenses incurred for participating in overseas fairs / missions and individual promotional trips undertaken.
